Core Values & Practices of Impact Ministries International

Core Values

We value a Passion for God.  Each one of us may be in a different place along the path of pursuing God, but we are responsible for heading in the same direction with the same focus - God. Love the Lord your God with all your heart and with all your soul and with all your mind and with all your strength.  Luke 12:30
We value Humility before God and before others.  It is a choice that we are responsible to make. God opposes the proud but gives grace to the humble.   Humble yourselves before the Lord, and he will lift you up.  James 4:6,10
We value Authenticity. It is our responsibility to be real, not false, not copied, but genuine with God and one another.
Therefore each of you must put off falsehood and speak truthfully to his neighbor, for we are all members of one body. Ephesians 4:25
We value Accountability.  We must be accountable for our words, actions, character, and assigned tasks.  Accountability helps us prioritize life with responsibility.
Nothing in all creation is hidden from God's sight. Everything is uncovered and laid bare before the eyes of him to whom we must give account.  Hebrews 4:13 Now it is required that those who have been given a trust must prove faithful.  I Corinthians 4:2
We value a Compassion for People.  Jesus continually demonstrated a compassion for people: His followers, the individual, the crowds, the hurting, and the lost.  We have the same responsibility.  May the Lord make your love increase and overflow for each other and for everyone else, just as ours does for you.  I Thessalonians 3:12
We value Personal Character.  Each one of us are responsible to demonstrate integrity by adhering to moral and ethical principles.  We are responsible to reflect the character of Jesus. The integrity of the upright guides them, but the unfaithful are destroyed by their duplicity.  Proverbs 11:3

Core Practices
As individuals, as teams, and as a ministry, we will pray and fast for God to work mightily in us and through us.  As staff, our individual passion for God and our pursuit of God will lead us to various levels of prayer and fasting.  We will be a prayer-based ministry. Primarily we are a campus ministry.

God has promised grace to the humble only.  When offended, we will forgive.  When we offend, we will ask for forgiveness.  Since we do not demonstrate perfection ourselves, we will not expect it from others.  We must do well at receiving grace and giving grace.

We will promote, encourage, and experience life in community.  Transformation happens within the context of community.  As we develop authenticity with one another, community happens.  Authenticity provides people with a safe place to fail and to grow.

We will take responsibility for ourselves.  We must live our lives in stewardship to God because we belong to Him.  We will be accountable to those whom God has placed over us and we all are ultimately accountable to Him.

We will believe in people.  Each person is unique and is gifted for some ministry in the kingdom of God.  We will love people through sharing, caring, evangelism, and discipleship.  Each person is valuable to God.  We will respectfully and tactfully speak the truth in love.

Character is who we are when no one is looking.  Our thoughts, our attitudes, our actions, our habits must all reflect the character of Jesus.  It begins with Godly thoughts.  May others, who disagree with us, have to admit that they cannot fault our character
