Lifestyle of Prayer: Fellowship!

“A Lifestyle of Prayer”

 This week’s prayer focus:  Fellowship!

“We write this to make our joy complete.  This is the message we have heard from him and declare to you:  God is light; in him there is no darkness at all.  If we claim to have fellowship with him yet walk in the darkness, we lie and do not live by the truth.”
1 John 1:4-6 (NIV)

As we continue to grow in A Lifestyle of Prayer, it is important to remember prayer should be a lifestyle, not an event.  View prayer as your first priority, not as the last resort.  This week we will focus our prayer emphasis on some things that God says about Fellowship.  God calls us into fellowship with Himself and with one another.  Not only that, it is our fellowship with God that equips us to have proper fellowship with others.  Pray that your pursuit of God would lead you to sweet fellowship with Him and with your brothers and sisters in Christ.  Pray each day for the individuals of Deer Run as well as the body of Deer Run.

And pray in the Spirit on all occasions with all kinds of prayers and requests. With this in mind, be alert and always keep on praying for all the saints.

Ephesians 6:18 (NIV)

Please spend time each day praying about, and writing down, how God would have you live out that day’s aspect of prayer.    Thank you!

Sunday:  Pray for your church, its staff and leadership, and for all of the preaching and teaching that takes place.  Pray for me (Tom Lemler) and the work of Impact Prayer Ministry.

Monday: Devoted to Fellowship.  Pray that the community of believers would value, and devote themselves to, Christian fellowship.  “They devoted themselves to the apostles’ teaching and to the fellowship, to the breaking of bread and to prayer.”  Acts 2:42 (NIV)

Tuesday: Fellowship with the Father.  Pray that your fellowship with the Father would lead you to share the message of the gospel so others can enjoy the same fellowship.  “We proclaim to you what we have seen and heard, so that you also may have fellowship with us. And our fellowship is with the Father and with his Son, Jesus Christ.”  1 John 1:3 (NIV)

Wednesday: Fellowship with Jesus Christ.  Pray that you would always trust the faithfulness of God who has called you into fellowship with Jesus.  Pray that you would represent a faithful God as you walk in fellowship with Jesus.  “God, who has called you into fellowship with his Son Jesus Christ our Lord, is faithful.”  1 Corinthians 1:9 (NIV)

Thursday: Fellowship of the Holy Spirit.  Pray that God’s grace  and love would be evident through the fellowship of the Holy Spirit in you.  “May the grace of the Lord Jesus Christ, and the love of God, and the fellowship of the Holy Spirit be with you all.”  2 Corinthians 13:14 (NIV)

Friday: Fellowship of Suffering.  Pray that your desire to know Christ would show the value of sharing in fellowship of His sufferings.  “I want to know Christ and the power of his resurrection and the fellowship of sharing in his sufferings, becoming like him in his death, and so, somehow, to attain to the resurrection from the dead.”  Philippians 3:10-11 (NIV)

SaturdayFellowship with One Another.   Pray that your walk with Jesus would bring you into fellowship with others as you live a forgiven life.  “But if we walk in the light, as he is in the light, we have fellowship with one another, and the blood of Jesus, his Son, purifies us from all sin.”  1 John 1:7 (NIV)
